Ever since I was a kid, I have been surrounded by family members who served in the military, worked in law enforcement, and became firefighters. Seeing that tradition of service throughout my family inspired me to follow a similar path. They showed me what it means to serve the community and be there for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Through their example, I learned the importance of responsibility, dedication, and helping others when they need it most.
As I have gotten older, my passion for becoming a first responder has only grown stronger. This passion led me to an internship with the Mount Prospect Fire Department, where I gained firsthand experience observing the work firefighters do every day. Being around them made me realize how much I wanted to pursue the same career and confirmed that this is the path I want to follow.
After graduating from high school, I attended EMT school and began working for Superior Ambulance while continuing to pursue my goal of becoming a firefighter. I also plan to attend paramedic school so I can further develop my skills, expand my knowledge, and better prepare myself for the next step in my career. I am committed to serving others and look forward to making a positive impact in my community as a firefighter and paramedic.
